Foot Tracks on Sand

The canyons and mountains and lots of tapas

The center of the island is mountainous and volcanic with farms, wineries, goats, the whole gammut. But, there's a little not quite hidden gem called Barracas de las Vacas that you can drive to, park on a mildly sketchy road, and go on a nice little hike. The lighting first thing in the morning isn't ideal, but you don't have to deal with all of the other tourists with recent knee replacements trying to get down a canyon.

To be honest, it is a really small area that takes great pictures.

I roamed about a bit through the mountain towns before returning to the pool at Santa Catalina, partially because the pool man was the most lovely silver fox I've seen. sigh. Good wine, silver fox, infinity pool.
