Foot Tracks on Sand

Headed north for the summer: our adventures in Canada

When you don't have a lot of free time, but you need to get out of dodge, consider a little Canadian adventure. Besides, everyone loves Canadians because they are chill and friendly!

We started off our adventure in Montreal, a brief stint. This was our starting point for train adventure down the coast. Having never been to Montreal, I was a bit sad that we didn't leave enough time to explore, but the one thing we couldn't live without was a trip to Chinatown for soup dumplings. Sounds weird, but I have been stranded in the Midwest without said dumplings for 10 years. chinatown is a must do in Montreal for sure. We really only had a short time available so the remainder of the time was walking the city until we headed to train station.

The overnight train is an odd concept in a world of air travel. It can be monotonous but you meet interesting people, hang out in the observation bubble and watch majestic forests and waterways, have a great mini room to chill in. It is Agatha Christie books at their finest. The average age of passenger is, admittedly, much older than us, but I find that to be a treat to chill with people who have been there, done that.

Final destination was Halifax, stay tuned for recs!
